Production Facilities

Shaw Studios

The new Shaw Studios is a full-service film and digital, picture and audio production and post-production facility recently completed by the Shaw Brothers. Highlights within the more than 92,000-square metre facility include five fully air-conditioned and soundproofed sound stages. The largest one features a filming space of 21 metres in height and some 2,000-square metres in size. The post-production building is one of the largest in Asia and features over 30 individual picture and sound post-production studios and final mix suites. Shaw Studios also features the largest recording suite in Asia, which accommodates live film scoring of up to 50 orchestral musicians.

CYBERPORT Digital Media Centre (DMC)

DMC provides a full-range of support to creators and providers of multimedia content, filmmaking, music, education, entertainment, advertising and animation to enhance their capabilities for delivering world-class content cost-effectively.

DMC facilities include:

The DMC? ARRILASER film recorder is the first in Hong Kong. It converts digital image content of various format and types of media to 35mm celluloid output. DMC? Render Farm has a network of 100 Xeon 2.8GHz CPUs dedicated to rendering, running at 200+ GFlops and is one of the fastest super-computers in Hong Kong. The render server is installed with the most popular animation and rendering software and is capable of providing round-the-clock service seven days a week on demand.
