The Film Services Office (FSO) co-ordinates and facilitates matters directly related to film production and location filming in Hong Kong. We provide information, liaison and support to local and overseas filmmakers. We look out for chances to widen the scope of our work in the course of improving our services. And all our services are free!

Below is a quick list of our jobs.

• Solving Problems
  We co-ordinate all government assistance to filmmakers and provide one-stop service on more complicated applications for locations or permits.
  
  

• Pre-production Meetings
  We convene multi-party meetings on large-scale filming plans and for filming on special filming locations like the airport and the Lantau Link.
  
  

• Handling Applications
  We process filming applications for lane closure and special parking arrangement, in consultation with the police, the Transport Department, the Highways Department, etc.
  
  

• Production Friendly Policies
  We help establish production friendly policies, streamline application procedures and lower filming charges.
  
  

• Sourcing Filming Locations
  We liaise with owners or managements to make available their premises for filming in order to cater for the varied filming needs.
  
  

• Production Information
  We maintain a Resource Centre and a dedicated website with comprehensive databases on application procedures for various filming locations and permits required for particular filming plans, and contact information about film production services companies based in Hong Kong. We are always ready to provide advisory service on filming related enquiries by email or on the phone.
  
  

• Community Relations
  We have held publicity programmes to rally support for filming from the public to make Hong Kong a more film-friendly territory.
