Sha Tin Park, opened in 1988, is one of the major amenities in Sha Tin town. It offers a wide range of recreational sites and greenery to residents of the town. The park is located next to the Sha Tin Town Hall and the busy shopping mall New Town Plaza. It occupies 8.05 hectares of land stretching along the Shing Mun River from Lion Bridge in the west to Sand Martin Bridge in the east.

The park consists of several gardens of its own style and features hundreds of thousands of plants of about 400 species and varieties rarely found in Hong Kong. The Main Plaza is the central area of the park featuring a large open space linked with Sha Tin Town Hall and Lek Yuen Bridge. Adjacent to the central area is a series of thematic gardens, namely a scented walled garden, an azalea garden, a rock display garden and a formal garden with colourful annuals. To the east of the Main Plaza is the Children's Adventure Playground which features a Chinese castle and a set of brain-teaser equipment. Towards the southern end of the park lies the South Garden. A constructed hill, Western Hill, sheltering the park from the road, provides the backdrop for an 8 m high waterfall tumbling into a large pool with an islet, bridges and pavilions. Next to the South Garden is the Western Adventure Playground. The North Garden features an undulating 'Dragon Back' wall and a colonnaded pavilion, reminiscent of the classical Chinese style garden.

Gardens, amphitheatre, cascade fountain, waterfall, large pool, castle, climbing nets, slides, swing bridge, Chinese castle, pavilions, and food and beverage outlet
