New Charges for Location Filming at Government Lands and Premises

The Lands Department has completed its review on the standard charges for location filming. With effect from 26 March 2019, the standard charges for location filming at Government vacant land/buildings under the management of Lands Department is $9,040 per application for one location up to one month and a further $6,810 for any part of a month thereafter. Any application for extension of the approved filming period is treated as a new application and considered on a case-by-case basis.

The Government Property Agency has also completed the review on the charges for location filming on Government premises. With effect from 1 April 2019, the new charging rate is $7,000 for the first four hours and $1,770 for each subsequent four-hour block. If extra Government personnel or equipment is required to take part in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged. The abovementioned charging rate is calculated on a cost-recovery basis, and is applicable to location filming on Government premises managed by various government departments.
